Collided With Train
rijJS-DRIVER FINED DOTY TO THE PUBLIC owes a duty to the pvi Wic with regard to these bus drivers,” said Mr. F. K. Hunt in the Police Ot>urt to-day. The driver in question was Edward Thomas Gibson, who crashed into a tram at the Totara Avenue crossing on April 7. It was the Helensville train with which he had tried conclusions, and in pleading guilty under, extenuating circumstances, his counsel, Mr. J. F. W. Dickson said among other things that the train was running asead of time. “It’s the first time that the Helensville train was earlier than usual then,” said the magistrate, and • the court chuckled. “He wasn’t keeping a proper look-out—fined £3 and costs.”
