STEADY WOOL PRICES SAVED DOMINION
DECLINE IN EXPORT VALUES PEAK YEAR IN DAIRY OUTPUT Press Association. WELLINGTON, To-day. Mr. W. Perry, president of the Royal Agricultural Society observed to-day in his annual report, that this is New Zealand’s peak year, up to the present, in dairy production, yet despite the increase in output exports in dairy products show a decline of nearly £400,000. Mr. Perry said that neary £9,0Q0,000 were realised by woolgrowers in the past season. Had not prices been steady and firm throughout the whole season a disastrous crash among farmers would probably have eventuated. During the past season 490,000 bales were sold at a Dominion average price of 12.66 d a lb, compared with 473,277 bales sold during the previous season at a Dominion average of 11.93 d, making an increase for last season of £550,000.
