NEW HALL AT HENRY SOLDIER SETTLEMENT
OPENED BY PRIME MINISTER (.From Our oxen Correspondent .) TAUPIRI, To-day. Henry Soldiers’ Settlement Hall, near Tauplrl, was officially opened by the Prime Minister last night. Major A. M. Samuels, M.P., was also present. Several deputations waited on Mr. Coates. The Mangawaru River Board asked for a subsidy of £ for £ over a £5,000 drainage scheme in the 10ft area. Mr. Coates promised to put the request before the Minister of Lands. Members of the Waikato County Council asked for a straight grant of £SOO to metal 50 chains of 10ft road to the hall, and £I,OOO for Henry’s Road, which was an important connecting link. The Prime Minister promised to look into the matter.
