MUTUAL STRENGTH IN MUTUAL AID

NEED FOR EMPIRE TRADE SHOPPING WEEK BEGINS By Cable. —Press Association.—Copyright Reed. 1.20 p.m. LONDON, Monday. “If once we realise the law of mutual strength through mutual trade, our every purchase becomes public policy,” declared Mr. L. S. Amery, Secretary of State for Dominions, in his Empire Shopping Week speech at Brighton. He added that to-morrow, throughout the Empire, would be celebrated not only great achievements of the past, but also the wonderful hopes of the future in a policy of mutual purchase between Britain and the Dominions.

“There is a law of Imperial strength,” he said, “with prosperity and progress as dear as the law of gravitation.”—A. and N.Z.
