‘LAST DOOR CLOSED’
N.S.W. LABOUR STRIFE NO PROSPECT OF SETTLEMENT By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright Reed. 11.40 a.m. SYDNEY. To-day Following a round-table conference between representatives of the Federal Executive of the Australian Labour Party and the Seale and Conroy executives, the Seale executive virtually closed the door to any near prospect, of reuniting the Labour forces in New South Wales.
It carried a resolution stating that, having heard the report of delegates to the Conference executive, it is of opinion that no good service could be served by accepting the invitation of the Federal executive to participate in any conference called on the basis proposed.
It further calls on all branches, and affiliated unions, to treat the proposed special conference with the utmost contempt, as the executive is convinced that in this action It /ill meet the unanimous approval of the rank and file of the Australian Labour Party.
