WOMAN FOUND DEAD

HEART FAILURE VERDICT A verdict that death was the result of heart failure was returned by the coroner, Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., at an inquest into the circumstances of the death of a married woman, Mrs. Alice Maud Palmer, aged about 68 years, who was found lying dead in her home. 47 Keppel Street, Grey Lynn. Evidence of identification was given by a farmer, Edwin Nops. He said he had known deceased since 1891, but had not seen her for seven months. James Vincent Brien, a waterside worker, said his wife remarked to him that she had not seen Mrs. Palmer about her house for some time. Accordingly, witness went to deceased’s house and finding no one about the premises opened the front door and found the woman’s body lying face downwards on the hall floor.

Dr. Murray, who examined the body, attributed death to heart failure. The coroner then gave his verdict as stated.
