I.owe, District Railway Vneineer, Auckland, left for Wellingthe Limited last evening. Mr A. J. Heighway. managing edir of the “New Zealand Dairy Produce Exporter,” is at present in Auckland. Captain J- Foster, of the Union steam Ship Company, has arrived in Auckland from Wellington, and is staying at the Hotel Cargen. Mr and Mrs. Geoffrey Lequesne, of c’ltnev. who have been visiting Auckland, will leave for Wellington tomorrow. Mr H. O. Bishop, of the Employers’ Federation, arrived in Auckland yesterday morning by the Limited from Wellington. Mr. B. A. Marris. superintendent of the railway staff, Wellington, is spending a few days in Auckland on official business. " Mr S. H. Jenkinson, chief draughtsman to the Railway Department, arrived in Auckland yesterday morning on official business. Senior-Sergeant J. Cruickshank has resumed his position as of£er-in-charge of Onehunga Police Station, having returned from his annual leave. The Congregational Union of Australia and New ZeZaland, sitting at Adelaide, has elected the Rev. J. E. James president for the ensuing year. Guests at the Rotary Club's luncheon to-day were Messrs. Robert W. Wallace (Napier), Frank Spencer, R. T. Robertson, Russell, Sinclair (Sydney) and W. S. J. Paton (Wellington). Mr. F. W. Furkert, Engineer-ln-Chief of Public Works, will visit Gisborne this week to inspect the harbour works, and advise the board as to its future operations. The vacancy on the Board of Maori Arts, caused by the resignation of Dr. H. P. Buck, has been filled, Mr. G. E. Archey, curator of the Auckland Museum, having been appointed to the position. Mr. F. W. Thring, managing director of J. C. Williamson Films, Ltd., who has just completed a tour of the Dominion with Mr. Beaumont Smith, will leave by the Niagara for Sydney this evening.
