TOO MANY OFFICIALS
UNION FUNDS EATEN UP ONE ORGANISATION URGED Press Association DUNEDIN, To-day. A prominent Labour supporter stated to-day that there were too many secretaries of unions in the Dominion, so that after their payment little was left for active campaigning. He said that the subscriptions collected in some 430 trade unions were £24,000, but only £4,000 was left after salaries, expenses, etc., had been paid. He suggested that all unions should form one organisation, like the employers, with one secretary in each centre.
