HEAVY DAMAGES CLAIM

A MOTOR ACCIDENT Press Association. WELLINGTON, To-day. Before Mr. Justice Alpers and a jury of 12, a claim is proceeding for damages as the result of a collision between a woman cyclist and a motor-car. The plaintiffs are David Simpson and his wife, Mabel Simpson, and the defendants, the Magnus Motors, employers of H. Dickinson, the driver of the car.

The wife claimed £l4 5s special and £9OO general damages, and the husband £IOO damages and £46 8s expenses.

It is alleged that Dickinson was travelling at an excessive speed, and that he did not keep proper control of the car.

The defence is a denial of the charge.
