AT MERCY OF SEA

WRECK NEAR ’FRISCO RESCUE OF CREW PLANES BEING USED By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright S. FRANCISCO, Fri. The steamer Indiana Harbor is a hopeless wreck, jammed between rocks. The crew are still aboard, but the sea is growing calmer. It is not clear whether the Hauraki is still there or has proceeded on her voyage. Two unsuccessful attempts were made from the shore to rescue the crew. Airplanes are now trying to drop a hawser from the Indiana Harbor to/the shore. Other modern apparatus has been assembled to accomplish the rescue. —A. and N.Z.
