UNGRATEFUL MAN ROBS FARMHOUSE

SUSPICION AROUSED MAY BE SCOTT, ESCAPED PRISONER (.Prom Our Own Correspondent.) THAMES, Today. A man, supposed to be Scott, the escaped prisoner, is reported to have visited a farmhouse at Patetonga on Friday morning, asking for food, which was supplied. While the farmer and his wife went out to milk, the man ransacked the house, taking two gold watches, underclothing, a suit of clothes, and a cheque-book. The settler rang up the police at Kerepeehi, but as he could not get through, he rang the police at Hamilton.

It is understood that the suspected man was seen later at Ngatea.
