TE AWAMUTU POWER BOARD MEETS
A SATISFACTORY YEAR

The annual meeting- of the Te Awamutu Power Board was held on Friday. There were present: Messrs. J. T. Johnson, chairman, A. L. Storey, G. Spinley, J. C. Montefiore, S. C. Macky, F. S. Parlane, J. B. Teasdale and J. G. Sutherland. Nominations were invited for the position of chairman, and Mr. Johnson was unanimously re-elected. The question of honorarium was discussed and Mr. Sutherland moved that it be the same as last year, £2OO. He stated that there was a good deal of work to be done by a chairman. The board's turnover had grown to £21,000 and the £2OO was .therefore very moderate. Mr. Montefiore moved as an amendment that the salary be reduced. There was no- seconder and the motion was carried. The revenue for March was as under: General lighting and heating and meter rents, £1,559 6s lOd: power, £1,720 13s: penalties and sundries, £6B 8s 2d; street lighting, £36; total, £3,384. The revenue for March, 1926, was £2,731 18s 6d. Revenue from the Kio Kio special area during March was £26 17s 9d. The secretary-manager explained the estimated expenditure for the coming year, providing for about £3,600 for extensions. A recommendation to raise another portion of the loan authorised was approved. The recommendations were confirmed. The consumers’ finance account was shown as cr. £1,366 4s lOd. The manager stated that the debit balance of the profit and loss account had been reduced during the past year by no less than £1,098 —a very satisfactory position. The chairman moved that this year’s executive comprise Messrs. Sutherland, Spinley, Macky and the mover.—Carried.
