PRINCE EDWARD

NEW PROGRAMME One of James Oliver Curwood’s most powerful novels, “Steele, of the Royal Mounted,” will be the chief attraction on the programme commencing to-day at the Prince Edward Theatre. The picture is full of swift action and adventure. One scene, where Trooper Steele, played by Bert Lytell, is dashed helplessly down the roaring rapids to almost certain death, is most realistic, and could only be filmed in Canada. Many glorious scenes of the NorthWest territory of Britain’s premier Dominion are shown, including excellent views of the ever snow-clad districts of North British Columbia, and the mighty pine forests. Charlotte Merriam enacts the chief feminine role and Stuart Holmes gives another of his memorable performances as the “villain.”
