Boxer in Grave State After K.O.
DANGEROUSLY ILL NOW IN HOSPITAL Press Association NAPIER, To-day. Roy Overend, who was knocked out in the final of a ten-round boxing contest last night, now lies in hospital dangerously 111. He took much punishment gamely from Tommy Griffiths and finally sank to the boards. After being removed from the ring he spoke but one sentence and has been unconscious since. He was operated on last night and a slight improvement was shown. Haemorrhage of the brain was the doctor's diagnosis of his state.
