SYDNEY SENSATION CARTOONIST IN DOCK Sydney artistic circles were startled last week by the news that George Finey, the New Zealand born cartoonist, had appeared in the dock. F»ney, who is one of Sydney’s best known figures, partly on account of his eccentric attire and the brilliancy of his ork—he is also one of the highest paid artists in Australia —was charged with entering a big city fur shop and stealing chokers and furs and other feminine luxuries to the valie of £1,237. Togetier with John Keith Dening, aged 26, with whom he w as charged, Finey was remanded Bail was granted in sureties of £SOO. Finey created a sensation at the most notorious of the Sydney Artists’ Balls by appearing as an infant, replete with a safety pin about a yard long.
