PRINCESS AND TIVOLI
“THE CANADIAN PIONEER” “The Canadian Pioneer,” starring Thomas Meighan. commences at the Princess and Tivoli Theatres to-day. The film is said to be an entirely new type of Canadian story, and breaks away from such hackneyed characters as cowboys, Indians, half-breed villains and North-West mounted policemen. The heroine. Miss Mona Palma, portrays a girl reared in London among luxury and refinement, who comes to her brother’s ranch in Canada and is at first shocked by the crude farmers whom she meets. When the girl finally learns to appreciate the sterling worth of these hardy pioneers the story comes to a happy co- ion. Meighan has ha . . ~u n g stories in the past, but from present indications. “The Canadian Pioneer” promises to outdo them all. The second featured film is “The Blue Streak,” a story set in romantic old Mexico. Richard TaJmadge is stated to supply comedy in abundance, and in addition performs many new acrobatic feats.
