“THE BEST PEOPLE”
AMUSING SATIRE “The Best People,” which the Carroll comedy company is now presenting at His Majesty’s Theatre in Auckland, is one of the best all round comedies which New Zealanders have seen for some time. The comedy is doubly interesting also, because it marks the return to the stage of Miss Beatrice Day, a favourite of bygone years, who as the hysterical Mrs. Lennox has a role most admirably suited. The cast altogether is a notable one. and “The Best People” is one of Avery Hopw’ood’s most amusing satires. As a farce, it is almost HHHI perfect in itself. |||P When it can be liIIP fairly added that graf the company puts across with com- . jail? plcte smoothness and with the gaiety : which suggests that I ; the flayers themselves are enjoying !t - there is little more to be said, exRichard Ehlers cept to advise those who have not yet had a good laugh this year to go and see “The Best People.” Miss Marian Lord, the heroine of a hundred conquests. Miss Helen Audiffred, Mr. J. B. Rowe. Mr. Richard Ehlers and Mr. Robert Adams contribute the largest share of pleasure to their eager audiences. “Meet The Wife” will be the next presentation by the Carroll' company.
