THE GRAND
“THE BARRIER” The primitive life of Alaskan villages, populated by fur trappers and seal fishers, forms a picturesque background for one of Rex Beach’s best stories, “The Barrier,” the picturised version of which will be shown at the Grand Theatre to-morrow. The swift action of the original story has been well preserved in the picture, providing a gripping romance. A east of exceptional merit includes Norman Kerry. Marceline Day. Lionel Barrvmore and Henr\ B. Walthall. The stirring adventures of the gold-seekers who set out' for the Klondike provide many thrilling moments. Jackie Coogan’s latest film. “Johnny. Get Your Hair Gut,” will also be screened to-morrow and on Saturday. Jackie has for some years enjoyed the title of the world’s foremost juvenile comedian, and in his niost recent production he scores one of the greatest triumphs of his career. Several excellent supporting films are also included on the programme.
