‘VERY UNSATISFACTORY’

(Special to THE SFS.) CHRISTCHURCH, To-day. “Very unsatisfactory,” were the words used by one official whom a £ SUN man approached this morning ' with a question as to the control of : fire-escapes in Christchurch. In the past it has been largely in I the hands of the City Council, but no definite regulations appear to have been put into effect, and the decision as to the necessity of fire-escapes on buildings has been in the hands of a 8 number of different authorities. Blundell achieved the jremarkable distinction of playing | for Otago while still at school, a and a few weeks ago collected a a harvest of wickets in the annual jCambridge Freshmen’s match. f
