DI PINEDO WELCOMED AT MONTREAL
FASCIST RECEPTION FLIGHT TO NEWFOUNDLAND By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright MONTREAL, Tuesday. The Marchese di Pinedo has arrived at Montreal, where he made a safe landing in the harbour. The aviator was greeted by throngs of Fascists, and he expressed gratification at seeing so many “black shirts” on hand. He then supervised the tuning of his plane. An official welcome was given by Signor Roncarelli, the Italian Consul and head of the Canadian Fascisti. Later the Marchese was the guest of honour at a banquet given by the local Italian colony. He was presented with a model of the Santa Maria, Christopher Columbus’s ship to which an airplane’s wings had been added. The next scheduled landing on the Marehese’s flight across the Atlantic .is at Trepassey Bay, Newfoundland, 80 miles south-west of St. John’s. —A. and N.Z.
