CAMBRIDGE BAND

CELEBRATES JUBILEE (.From Our Own Correspondent .) CAMBRIDGE, Tuesday. At the Town Hall last evening, before an attendance of 700 district residents, the local Municipal Band celebrated its golden jubilee, the first band having been formed on May 16, 1877, when Cambridge was but an armed constabulary outpost. With the exception of three years, and during part of the war, Cambridge has possessed a band throughout the entire half-cen-tury. The present municipally-con-trolled band has a good membership, with a fine set of silver instruments, the gift of the people two years ago. The celebrations last evening were in the form of a concert, old-time garden fete and dance.
