Hops have great tonic qualities. To 1 pint of boiling water add loz. of hops and teaspoon of Epsom-salt. A wineglass of the liquor taken every morning will restore and maintain excellent health.

When washing voile, dissolve one teaspoon of gum arabic in a cup of boiling water, then add this to enough cold water to rinse the article in. This gives the desired stiffness, and the voile will not shrink.
