The Eternal Triangle

AN ASSAULT CHARGE MAN TREATED LENIENTLY “He had some provocation, but I think he went rather far.” was Chief Detective Cummings’s opinion of the case again Frederick Jamies Davis, a ship’s fireman, who was charged at the Police Court this morning with assaulting Archibald Shields. The Chief Detective intimated that it was a case of “the eternal triangle,’’ and mentioned something that was alleged to have happened while Davis was away at sea. On his return the fireman had had a complaint from his wife, and demanded an explanation from the other man. “I’ll treat it as a breach of the peace,” said Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M. “Fined £1 and costs.”
