NOTABLE AUCTION SALE
Illustrating the beautiful design and craftsmanship of the STUART PERIOD FURNITURE. The chair is in WALNUT, the favourite wood of the period, and is one of fourteen to be sold at the big sale to be held at “Meadowbank,” Ellesmere, Canterbury, the residence of Captain Tahu Rhodes. A very rare and valuable collection of genuine antiques will be disposed of, including beautiful examples of Old English and French furniture. The catalogue includes many items of Chippendale and Sheraton Mahogany and 15th Century Oak. Some very old and rare Persian carpets and Prayer rugs will also be sold. The sale at “Meadowbank” will be held on Tuesday, May 31, and transport from Christchurch has been arranged for. Some fine pictures by Van der Velden, C. M. Worsley, John Gully and others will be sold at Christchurch on Wednesday, June 8. Catalogues with full particulars will be mailed free on receipt of letter or telegram to H. G. Livingstone and Co., Auctioneers, Christchurch.
