JAMMING WIND CURTAINS
In 1925 the commonest complaint about side-screen sockets was that the pegs were too easy a fit and that rattling ensued. During 1926 this complaint hits not been unknown in the small car world, but it has yielded pride of place to its opposite, viz., that the pegs are now often too tight and difficulty is experienced in getting the screens out when the owner desires to open the car.
Apparently it does not occur to the average owner that a light film of vaseline or other grease will go far to check rattle by padding any excess of
clearance, and will also facilitate the pulling out of a tightish peg. The best way of freeing tight pegs is to stand on the running board and raise the screen on the square by tugging sharply at the two top corners simultaneously and lifting each ccrrner evenly.
