SHIVERY ISLES!
ipHE majority ot Sydney newspapers make a feature of advertising New Zealand’s earthquakes. “The Quivery Isles,” “Shivery Isles,” and “Quaky New Zealand,” are not infrequent headlines. Mr. E. D. McLennan, M.P., in common with many other New Zealanders, when visiting across the Tasman, found it difficult to dispel the Impression manufactured by the Australian newspapers. “Some of the people over there are quite certain we are going to disappear beneath the waves,” commented Mr. McLennan on his return from Sydney to-day.
