ANOTHER JUBILEE
WHANGAREI TO CELEBRATE COUNCILLORS DISAGREE (From Our Own Correspondent.') WHANGAREI, To-day. A suggestion put forward at the County Council meeting ma: the council celebrate its 50th anniversary in some way, met with a very mixed reception. On Friday Councillor Elliott said that with the unemployment in the district the council would do better in attending to this than by spending money in whisky, in order that they could tell the public and each other good fellows they and their predecessors had been. This view was strongly supported by He y wa rd and Potter. The other members thought the suggestion to be quite in order, and a motion was carried appointing a small committee to go into the matter and report next meeting.
