STILL MISSING

RUSSIAN RAID DOCUMENT NOT FOUND “SEARCH WAS JUSTIFIED” Continued from page 9. By Cable. —Press Association.—Copyright Reed. 2 p.m. LONDON, Sunday. Sir William Joynson-Hicks, Home Secretary, has a special conference with the police and Secret Service chiefs to-morrow morning, when he will examine the documents found at Arcos, Limited. Interviewed, he stated: “I am satisfied that the search was justified. I shall make a statement in answer to questions in the House of Commons to-morrow. “I cannot say whether I shall be able to disclose the nature of the discoveries.” The “Daily Express” believes that Scotland Yard found evidence of conspiracies, and lists of Red agents in Britain, and the names of agitators who received payments from Russia dring the general strike. There was no trace of the missing State documents. —A. and N.Z. “AMPLY JUSTIFIED” Rec. 2 p.m. LONDON, Sunday. The jiolitical correspondent of “The Times” says that the Arcos raid was primarily for the purpose of searching for a State document of the highest importance, stolen recently from a Government department. It has not yet been found, but the authorities consider that the raid was amply justified by the discovery of secret strongrooms and abundant evidence proving the existence of a vast Soviet organisation of a violent anti-British character. The missing document is believed to have been burned.—A. and N.Z.
