SHORE UP WITH THE LEADERS
PATURDAY a desperate day for Rugby, saw Ponsonby J rise to the top of the points ladder in the Auckland senior Rugby competition. _ Wh ile had J uck with them against Grammar Old Boys, North Shore deserved every point of the five scored against Training College. Grafton and Marist finished all square, and College Rifles drew blood at the ex pense of the weakened Varsity side. X ‘ It was a wretched day for football, and for the spectators too, but nevertheless the main stand at Eden Park was filled.
PONIES ON TOP Having beaten Grammar, Ponsonby go to the top of the table, while the consistent Marist side and the improving North Shore team are only a point to the bad. The positions are:
