TAKING into consideration a boisterous day, a slushy and wet ground with the ball greasy and hard to handle, the Rugby League football played on Saturday was of a good standard, fast, and interesting. Close scoring was the feature of the three big senior games and the calculations of many were unexpectedly upset by the defeat of Devonport by Marist, and the drawn games between City and Richmond and Ponsonby and Newton.
