SENTENCE DEFERRED

MCDONALD’S CRIME MEDICAL EXAMINATION “A SENSIBLE SUGGESTION” Found guilty on two charges of indecent assault on a male, John McDonald, a tailor, aged 45 years, appeared for sentence before his Honour Mr. Justice Stringer, at the Supreme Court this morning. On behalf of prisoner, Mr. R. Singer applied for an adjournment for the purpose of having prisoner mentally and physically examined. He said he was making the application at the request of the prisoner’s family. Personally he considered that the result of such examination would not only prove of value to the court in determining the sentence in the present case, but would also have a useful bearing on future cases. His Honour Mr. Justice Stringer said he welcomed the suggestion, which he considered was a very sensible one. Prisoner was remanded until the next session.
