EARLY BUTTER SALES
COMPANIES CONSIDERING MR. BRASH ADVISES CAUTION Press Association WELLINGTON, To-day. Mr. T. C. Brash/ secretary of the Dairy Control Board, advises that a number of dairy companies are considering the question of selling their May and June outputs of butter at prices varying from Is 3d upwards. He is of the opinion that the final average price realised in r the pool, which represents the butter graded from May 1 to October 30, will return a net average price considerably above this figure, and the dairy companies would be welladvised to act cautiously in making sales. It has to be borne in mind that in accordance with the board’s policy there will be no stocks of stored stale butter to go on the market in the early spring, hence the market should be fairly sound for produce arriving then.
