BLUFF TUG LEAVES DUBLIN. — Cabled advice has Deen received stating that the new tug Southland, which has been built by the Dockyard Co. (Vickers, Ireland), Ltd., for the Bluff Harbour Board, left Dublin on May 12 for New Zealand. The vessel, which is classed as 100 A 1 at Lloyds, will be used for towing purposes. Her principal dimensions are: Length 135 feet, breadth 30 feet, and depth 18 feet. She has a registered tonnage of 525 tons gross, and is fitted with a twin Vickers-Fetters oil engine. She is a_ steel twin-screw vessel with a cruiser' stern and has electric light with electric auxiliaries throughout. She should put in an appearance some time in J uly.
