CITY DOG-KENNELS
COMPLAINT BY S.P.C.A. Dissatisfaction with the present system under which the city dog kennels are run, was expressed at a meeting of the committee of the Auckland Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Part of the complaint was that dogs captured by the ranger were destroyed almost immediately afterwards, giving owners little or no chance of claiming them. A letter of protest will be sent to the City Council, asking for belter arrangements to be made. ]Uiss Pearl Dawson was invited to ac: as honorary veterinary surgeon to the society until the annual meeting in October, and Messrs. McLean, Perry and Munro as honorary inspectors. Mr. J. Armstead was elected honorary solicitor, and Mr. L. E. Rhodes chairman of the committee.
