LIBRARY CONCERTS

PARNELL The Parnell Library series of winter lectures and entertainments is announced to commence on May 24. The course will include two concerts arranged respectively by Miss Maida Hooker and Miss Berta Carr, and Mr. and Mrs. Cyril Towsey. The lecture programme, which is noticeably strong in subjects of New Zealand interest, is headed by Dr. P. H. Buck, who will deal with “The Maori in History and Tradition.” The other lecturers are Prof. Q. R. Knight, “New Zealand Cities and Town Planning”; Mr. J. Stanton. “Britain in 1926: a New Zealander's Impression”; Mr. R. A. Falla, “Bird Life in New Zealand.” Course tickets may be had at the city libraries or Queen Street bookshops.
