TWO MONTHS’ IMPRISONMENT
SHE’S too handy with her pen when she gets near a cheque book,” observed Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., in the Police Court this morning when he was told that Ivy Hazel Kite, who stood in the dock awaiting sentence on eight charges of theft and false pretences, had had 14 previous convictions. •
The woman, who is 35, had stolen a cheque book and some forms and gone around to various small tradesmen in Onehunga and obtained groceries and money totalling £22 ,2s 6d. Last time Ivy Kite appeared it was
said that she had been in and out of gaol ever since she was a little girl. A medical certificate was produced and handed in to the bench. “Two months’ imprisonment,” said the magistrate, when he had heard these facts about, her.
