TH SHORE v. TRAMWAYS.— Lhe Shore are also an unbeaten team, “V vlll tnnke their first appearance at headquarters this season. The black-and-golds have established what must he an Auckland club record by playing the same team for four consecutive Saturdays since the start of the sea-
son. Obviously the policy is a paying .one. as they have won three games with 10 goals scored for them and only one against. But the three teams they have met on their home ground are not the strongest in the competition, and the meeting with the Trams tomorrow should be a real test of Shore’s merits. The Trams have yet to produce their real form and show the spectators the teamwork which made them almost unbeatable last year. The match should be a test of youth and dash against age and experience; in these days youth is hard to keep down and Shore holds that asset strongly. ONEHUNGA v. PONSONBY.-Ono-hunga will be at home again to meet the Ponies for the first time in senior soccer. The Manukau team is still satisfied that they have the material for a first-class team, and last Saturday their defence was good enough to keep the Shore from scoring more than a solitary goal. Ponsonby are now settling down into a cohesive team, and it will be interesting to watch whether their attack will be more effective against Onehunga than that of the Shore was. Onehunga have not shown up in the attacking aspect since the first half-dozen goals they scored in the opening match, and in spite of the home ground advantage against them the Ponies should win.
NORTHCOTE v. NAVY.—The Naval Brigade will be at home for the first time to-morrow on the Calliope Dock ground when they meet Northcote. Neither team has yet been able to score a win, the run of luck having been against them. Both teams are right out to get away from the bottom of the table and it will be a hard tussle for the points between the two. Northcote are again trying some experiments in both the half and forward lines and are now confident that they have a team equal to their former elevens. The Navy have put up three good fights on Blandford Park without securing a scoring point in the championship, but on their own arena they will be more than unlucky if they fail to-morrow.
