SOUTH AFRICAN VISIT
TRIAL MATCHES ARRANGED WELLINGTON, To-day. At a meeting of the New Zealand Rugby Union yesterday it was decided that a visit from a Japanese Rugby team would not benefit New Zealand Rugby. The following dates for trial matches were arranged. RUGBY TOURS August 6; Wanganui and Taranaki v. Wellington and Manawatu-Horowhenua, at Wanganui. September 21: Hawke’s Bay, Poverty Bay and East Coast v. Wairarapa and Bush Union, at Napier. September 24: North Auckland and Auckland v. Thames Valley, Waikato, Bay of Plenty and King Country, at Auckland. September 17: Nelson, Marlborough and Golden Bay v. Builer and West Coast, at Westport. September 24: Canterbury, South Canterbury and Ashburton, Otago, North Otago and Southland, at Dunedin. October 1: North Island v. South Island, at Wellington.
