CYCLE ROAD RACE

HAMILTON TO AUCKLAND TO BE HELD IN OCTOBER ORGANISATION OUTLINED Preliminary details in connection with the big Dunlop cycling: road race from Hamilton to Auckland this year were discussed at a meeting of the committee last night. It was decided to hold the race* on Saturday, October 1, nominations to close on September 17, and acceptances 10 days later. Mr Oakes, of the Auckland Athletic and Cycling Club, was appointed handicapper. The race will be run over the same route as last year, with the exception that the finish will be at Onehunga. It was reported that the big race had been enthusiastically received by local riders, and good entries are expected from other centres.
