To remove verdigris or other obstinate stains from silver, make a paste with 2ozs. of jeweller’s rouge, Gozs. precipitated chalk or burnt hartshorn and as much spirits of wine as is re-

quired to make a thick paste. Apply this to the silver and leave on till quite dry, then polish in the ordinary way.
