“YOU CUR!”

HYSTERICAL WOMAN BREAKS DOWN IN COURT ASSISTED FROM BOX (.Special to THE SUN.) CHRISTCHURCH, To-day. There were some tense moments during the hearing of an assault case in the Supreme Court when a young woman, who was being cross-exam-ined, became upset. She quivered in the witness-box and then in a hoarse, strained voice, called, “Cur! You cur, You!” She was looking in the direction of the prisoner’s dock at the time. The police constable who was near the box steadied the young woman and a glass of water was brought for her. Witness was assisted out of the box by the matron and was given a seat in the body of the court. Cross-exam-ination was then proceeded with.
