MARAMA ARRIVES LATE
OTHER VESSELS ALSO DELAYED The stormy weather which has prevailed at sea for the past few days caused the Union Company’s intercolonial passenger steamer, Marama, to arrive at Auckland last evening some 15 hours late. Rough seas, accompanied by an east-south-easterly gale and heavy rain followed the vessel all the way from Sydney, with the result that the passengers had a most unenjoyable time. The New Zealand Government island
passenger steamer Hinemoa was also delayed by the storm. Ever since leaving Norfolk Island on Sunday she
had to make her way in the face of this severe gale. The transpacific steamer Wairuna, en route from San Francisco, and the Canadian Britisher, en route from Halifax, have both been delayed, and are not expected to make port before to-morrow morning.
