Colonel A. Headland, of Palmerston North, arrived in Auckland last evening and is staying at the Star Hotel.
Mr. H. L. Glenn, of Wellington, has arrived in Auckland and is among the guests staying at the Hotel Careen.
Mr. W. R- Davidson, assistant chief engineer. New Zealand Railways, is paying a visit to Auckland on departmental business.
Messrs. J. A. C. Allum and M. Stewart. who have been attending a conference of Railway Advisory Boards in Wellington, returned to Auckland this morning by the Limited.
Messrs G. R. Hutchinson and F. A. Hellaby, new members of the Auckland Harbour Board, were welcomed to their first board meeting by the chairman, Mr. H. R- McKenzie, yesterday.
Mr. C. Eugene Smith, of the Government Life Insurance Department, has been appointed general manager of the Commonwealth General Assurance Corporation of Australia.
