MAJESTIC
‘THE NIGHT OF LOVE” The charming romantic picture, “The Night of Love,” again drew a crowded audience to the Majestic last evening and it is safe to say that the attention of everyone in the big audience was held from the commencement to the close of the programme. The picture is quite in keeping with the Majestic’s policy of giving its patrons the best procurable and in both acting and photography it is a masterpiece. Add to this the glamour of mediaeval Spain and it may be understood why the theatre has been thronged by those eager to see the production. The love of brave men and fair woman appeals to all ages and in all climes and last night there was a display of fighting and love-making which thrilled even the most prosaic hearts. The acting of Miss Vilma Banky a-s Princess Marie was exquisite and in many beautiful and stirring scenes she was ably supported by Ronald Colman as the gallant gipsy lover. The final scene where the hero is rescued from the stake and the castle of the wicked duke raided is particularly fine and the union of the lovers in the end provides a happy conclusion to a great film. The supporting programme is also good, with nicely-balanced variety.
