English M.P. Dead. —The death is announced of Captain Walter Shaw, Conservative member for Westbury.— A- and N.Z.
Timber Stolen. —Reporting to the New Lynn Town Board last night the foreman stated that about 150 ft of 4 x 1§ timber had been stolen from the Gardiner Street culvert. The matter had been placed in the hands of the police.
Kerbing Damaged. —At the New Lynn Town Board meeting last night it was reported that children had damaged three chains of kerbing on the Great North Road, and the foreman was instructed to prevent further mischief.
Oh Mount Victoria. Devonport’s possibilities for town-planning were viewed this morning from Mount Victoria by the Town Planning Director, Mr. Hammond. He was accompanied by the mayor. Mr. E. Aldridge, on a tour of inspection of the borough.
