METHODIST COLLEGE

TENDER FOR BUILDING It is intended to make an early start with the construction of the Methodist Theological College, at the corner of Grafton Road and Carlton Gore Road. Mr. C. W. Ravenhall’s tender of £34,160 has been accepted. . There were 12 other tenders, ranging from £35,323 to £ 44,514. The Methodist Church has already collected over £44,000, chiefly through the agency of the Rev. Dr. C. H. Laws, principal of the college. In view of this, there should be no difficulty in erecting and equipping the building free of debt.

The building should be completed in about 18 months’ time, and will be of brick, with stone facings. Mr. R. J. Emerson has been appointed clerk of works.
