CONCERT NEXT WEEK The forthcoming recitals by the celebrated violinist, Efrem Zimbalist. are being eagerly awaited by musiclovers and the public generally. Mr. Zimbalist. who is paying his first visit to Australia and New Zealand, comes with a great reputation both in America and in the Old World, where lie is ranked as one of the three leading violinists of the day. lie is at present on a holiday tour of the Pacific Islands, and recently gave two recitals in Honolulu, which attracted larger audiences than any concerts previously given there. Prior to his departure from the United St; tes the famous violinist was accorded a series of farewells in the principal cities. At these functions many other celebrities of the musical world assisted, including Josef Hofmann, pianist, and Professor Leopold Auer, the noted violin tutor, who has the distinction of having taught Elman, Zimbalist and Heifetz. Concert Tours Ltd. announce that the Auckland season will be limited to three recitals which will be given in the Town Hall on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday of next week. May 17, 19 and 21. Preferential bookings may now be made at Lewis R. Kady anil Son, Ltd.
