Ireland. 3—6. 2—6. 6—3 6—3, 6—4. Spence. South Atrica, defeated St. John Mahony, Ireland, 6—2. 6—3. S—6. Condon and Raymond defeated Meldon and Mahony, 6—3, 6—2, 7—5. South Africa won the match, and now will meet Switzerland in the second round.
