MY LADY
Just an old-fashioned lady, With hair silver-grey, And a welcoming smile At the close of the day. Though your kind face is wrinkled, And hands toil-worn, too, I owe you a lot. Bear old lady, I do.
Just an old-fashioned lady, And who is she pray? Is she my mother? I’m bound to say nay. Each year when I leave you, By seas that are blue, I owe you a lot, MY LANDLADY. I do! Poet's Comer.
