THE LAST WORD

IN PICTURE PRESENTATION So important to the prestige of motion pictures generally is “Michael Strogoff,” the colossal Universal Film-de-France triumph which will shortly commence a season at the Regent Theatre, that the Universal Company has released from her London engagements, Miss Valda Leach, solo dancer in the original prologue at the Albert Hall.

In accordance with the stipulation of the producers. “Michael Strogoff” must have, throughout the world, adequate prologue presentation. To this end. and to make sure that the screening of the film in New Zealand will meet with the requirements by which it m released, Mr. Eskell, general manager for Universal Films in New Zealand, has arranged for Miss Leach to personally supervise the presentation here.

Miss Leach is bringing with her some of the original costumes made in London for the prologue, which she describes as gorgeous in the extreme. The scenery, which will be a duplication of that used in the London prologue, will be painted locally by experts in accordance with the specifications sent out in advance. Miss Leach will select her principals and ballets locally, and will train them in the ways of prologue work. In view of the method of presenting this “mightiest motion picture since pictures began,” as “Michael Strogoff'’ has been described, it is safe to predict that the season in Auckland and subsequently elsewhere in New Zealand will be a record-breaking one. p Unusual public interest is already manifest in the coming season, and hundreds of requests for bookings are pouring into the office of the Regent Theatre.
